VOORHEESVILLE ROD & GUN CLUB MEETING SUMMARY
Meeting called to order by President Frank Papa on February 5th.
Our Special Events Calendar is in full swing. It begins with the Wild Game Dinner, which will
be held on Saturday, March 21st, beginning @ 1 p.m. We have venison, but we can always use elk, boar, bear, caribou, antelope, small game, etc. We need
fish. [The Wild Game Dinner has been postponed to a future date.]
We also have cards for our Sunday, April 5th, Ham Shoot. Stop by the Club
and take cards to work, your other organizations, your neighbors. Sell as many as you can. We start @ 1p.m.
with dogs, burgers, chowder, raffles, & shoots. Very important event,
since it benefits our community agencies. [The event will be restricted to just the ham shoot; no food nor indoor
You’ll find a list @ the Club to sign up to help work these events. We need membership assistance to make these events a success.
We have Clam Bake tickets for May 16th available @ the Club. Festivities begin @ 1 p.m. Lots of food, prizes. Get your tickets now. Come out & enjoy the day. We’ll do our best with the weather.
We have our new sound system ready to go for the Ham Shoot. Thanks to Bud Lombardo for his assistance with the system & its installation.
Since there is a new legislative session coming up, all VRGC members are urged to contact their representatives regarding gun control bills. We, as an organization, are encouraging our members to join the New York Rifle & Pistol Association.
We appreciate the informative presentation from Tom King , Executive Director of the New York Rifle & Pistol Association about all of the pending legislation that is currently under consideration. He clarified many aspects of the laws, and indicated current action underway in the legal arena. He is looking for serious club participation with the upcoming elections. We’ll have more details on that as the year progresses.
We have several individuals that have direct access to all legislation that is being considered. Frank is looking for someone to actually keep the membership abreast of all of this information & periodically educate the membership on these future occurrences.
Norm Bayly has indicated that all systems are go (in conjunction with the School District) for our Youth Trap Program for Spring 2020. Registration is Saturday, March 14th, with the Safety Course to be held the following Saturday, March 21st. The actual shoots will then begin on Saturday, March 28th.
Next meeting, Wednesday, April 1st, 7 p.m. [No pre-meeting dinner.]
