Meeting Summary

APRIL 2020

By Frank Papa, VRGC President

We held the Ham shoot and shot only the cards that were sold by our members and at the bar before we closed operation. We sold 69 cards, 66 were completely sold and 3 were partially filled out. We brought in $1679 and our expenses for the Hams was $838. We had a net profit of $841.

I want to thank Robbie Hanna and Rick DeJong for shooting the cards. Nancy and Joe for scoring the cards. Winners were contacted and hams were passed out as a drive thru pick up at the club.

I also want to thank Norm Bayly for getting the cards set up and out to the members. I also want to thank Dave Gannon for assisting in passing out the hams. We donated a case of hams to the Food Pantry, we have 10 hams in the club freezer for future dinners. Of the 15 cases of hams we picked up, Hannaford donated 4 of those cases and saved us about $425.

If there are any Junior Members; or children/grandchildren of our members interested in applying for the scholarship please have them contact me through my email: president@vrgclub.com.

When the club was closed all liquor was removed and there is no money on the premises. The Sheriff's and State Police have been contacted and are patrolling the property. If you are on the property when they patrol they may ask you for your membership card, this was my request of them to insure only members are on the property. Also, the lights have been left on in the club so they can see in when they check the facility.

Along with the state's request to close Golf Courses, the state also has closed boat launches.

Other state news, the DEC has decided that you can take the Hunter Safety course online through their site. Also if you need your turkey stamp for spring turkey which starts May 1st you can get that online as well.

The Onesquethaw Creek and Hannacrois Creeks were stocked with Brown trout on Tuesday 4/15. Onesquethaw had 1060 fish stocked and Hannacrois had 1590 fish stocked.
