Latest Meeting Minutes (Quick View)



Meeting called to order by President Mike Moran on November 6th.
Thanks to Nancy, Madonna , & Michele for a delicious pulled pork dinner. The Annual Dinner will be Roast Beef on December 4th. NO TAKEOUTS.
Membership dues are due for 2020. Make sure that you do all of your corrections (name, address, phone-cell vs. landline, email,etc.) on the form.
The Fall Fishing Trip was a wonderful success. Everyone had a good time & the weather cooperated. See you in May.
The Turkey Shoot was Sunday. Very good crowd enjoyed everything. We sold over 150 turkeys (cards & shoots). Thanks to all the members that sold cards & to all those that helped with the shoots, cooking food, scoring targets, & selling clothing.
ATV raffle is progressing well, but we have lots more to sell, so stop @ Club & get some to sell. All tickets & $$$ still out must be returned now. Drawing will be Sunday, the 17th.
Camp Colby signup list is @ Club. Signup by December 1st to get on the list; first come, first served. 12-17 years old is eligibility, all genders. We have seven (7) available openings this year. Check the NYSDEC website for camps & dates. Online registration will follow. We have also added a conservation summer camp to the list.
Hunting season is approaching quickly. We have a $5.00 processing fee for anyone using the kitchen & club facilities for any kill that you have. Pay the bartender the day that you use the Club. You are required to totally clean the kitchen & cooler areas. Please note that the facilities will not be available on Tuesday, December 3rd & Wednesday, December 4th, because the kitchen will be needed for our Annual Dinner.
You may leave your deer hearts @ the Club.
Also make sure that you have plastic bags & trays when you are hanging anything in the cooler, because we offer that as a convenience (perk) to the members. You are responsible for any cleanup.
The deer hide bucket will be near the pavilion. We use those hides to make gloves & other necessities for needy veterans. We coordinate this effort with the Guilderland Elks, Bethlehem Sportsmen’s Club, Colonie Elks, & West Albany Rod & Gun Club. Leave your hides @ Club. If you know of any other individuals that have hides, you may contact Bruce Lovett (518-505-3215) or Arnis Zilgme (518-466-9600)
The range will be available during hunting season (now thru December 15th) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
We also added three (3) new memb ers—Jessica Kearney, Christopher Ryan, & Bill Frankow. Welcome to all.
We haven’t had a poker tournament in a long time. Anyone interested in a Texas Hold-‘Em experience, contact Steve Arnold (518-852-9566) .
November meeting had nominations for all officers & three (3) directors.

New Member Requirement

All new members are required to complete a minimum of EIGHT HOURS of volunteer service within their first year. Sign up at the VRGC Clubhouse for a work detail to lend a hand at the next function!
